Bio: I earned my BA in Psychology at Michigan State University in 1995. Then spent a few years “finding myself” and all those pesky math and science prerequisites in Michigan and Colorado, and began my medical education at The National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, OR in 1998.
In my second year of Naturopathic Medical school, I trained for my first triathlon and found acupuncture to be such a phenomenal treatment modality for athletes that I decided to work toward a Master of Science in Oriental Medicine concurrently with my doctoral program.
Opening my practice in Newport Beach in 2004, I have made great contacts with swimmers and triathletes through my husband Bernie, a world-class swimmer. I began running marathons and specializing in the care of endurance athletes upon moving to California.
Through the years. I have developed very specific individualized protocols for the prevention and treatment of exercise-induced conditions that are not available anywhere else in the natural health arena. I find my work and success with athletes (from beginner to elite) very rewarding, and plan to someday literally write the textbook on Naturopathic Sports Medicine.
I live in Irvine with my husband (an elite international swimmer) and three young sons. I do Crossfit twice per week and run a marathon every year. |
